Smartphone Free Schooling

At Rednock, we will soon be introducing a phone-free schooling approach as part of our commitment to creating a calm, focused and positive learning environment for all students. By reducing distractions during the school day, we aim to support student wellbeing, improve concentration in lessons and encourage stronger face-to-face social interaction.
This page will provide information about the new expectations, the reasons behind the approach and answers to frequently asked questions from students and parents/carers.

Why are we making these changes?

Papaya Talks

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Susie Davies to our Phone Free Information Evening on 22nd June.
A GP, mother of three teenagers and founder of PAPAYA (Parents Against Phone Addiction in Young Adults), Susie brings both professional expertise and personal experience to the conversation around smartphones and young people’s wellbeing. Having witnessed the impact of excessive device use on mental health in her clinical work, she is passionate about helping families navigate the digital world with confidence.
Her empowering and practical approach has supported thousands of parents and aligns closely with the growing Smartphone Free Childhood movement and we’re excited to to have her involved in our own Phone Free Schooling journey.
